Our low-iron glass is perfect for applications where clarity is a primary consideration, such as storefronts and display cases. When you look at normal plate glass, you notice a greenish cast. This is especially evident in thicker pieces of glass.
While this is generally not objectionable, there are applications – such as tabletops, storefronts, display cases and trophy work – where clarity is important. That’s where low-iron is clearly preferable. It is also the glass of choice when the greenish tint of regular plate may interfere with a special interlayer – a white rice paper for example. Low iron glass is manufactured for exceptional clarity.
It can be fabricated, tempered, and laminated like typical plate glass, giving it a broad range of decorative and functional applications. As a stocking distributor, we offer low iron glass in thicknesses ranging from 3/16″ to 3/4″.
